 brunello montalcino poderina 1999. Alcohol content: 13.5% vol. Grape variety: 100% Sangiovese Grosso. 60% of the wine ages one year in barriques and one year in large barrels, 40% only ages in large barrels for two years. The whole wine is then refined for 18 months in glass. Deep  garnet red colour, with bright ruby red hints on the rims. The nose opens up to aromas of black cherry and cherry jam followed by blueberry, licorice, cocoa, black pepper, cinchona, tobacco, undergrowth, humus and mushroom. Light background note of aromatic herbs.  In the mouth the wine is soft, well-bodied, caressing, with pleasant freshness and velvety tannins. The wine is fairly easy to drink and not too challenging. Very good taste-olfactory length. Let's drink it with roast deer with wild berries, truffle fillet, "stravecchio" Pienza cheese.
